Diagnoses of genera of South East Asia: Genus: Augustea (6.3; 6.5). Both male and female of A. formicaria were described by Szombathy, 1915. They are ant-like. The author says that Augustea is close to Agorius (p. 303). His drawings suggest that A. formicaria might, in fact, belong to Orsima. Distribution: Augustea is known only from Singapore.
Belongs to: Old Monotypic genera. General remarks: Most of these genera are known only from south east Asia. Although there are still no habitat details, genitalia and occasionally other drawings are now available for many of them. In the original descriptions and in Simon's salticid classification, mention is sometimes made of close and more familiar relatives. The latter will be discussed in more detail in due course.
